Dry Ice Biogon c
The dry ice is classified as food. Applications for the ice are all transport and processing stages in which the dry ice comes into direct contact with food, e.g. transport refrigeration, sprinkling of meat and chilling of dough and mixers. At a temperature of -78.5 °C the dry ice may only be handled by trained personnel.
The strict food-specific requirements are implemented in a separate production area with an accompanying hygiene concept. A special, easily removed foil wrapping ensures that there is no contact between the dry ice and the transport boxes. Each individual box is inspected and sealed before leaving the factory. The batch sticker on the box ensures traceability.
The starting product for this special dry ice is carbon dioxide from the provider‘s food-grade gas range. The latter includes pure gases and gas mixtures tailored to the food and beverage industry. These guarantee reproducible and consistent quality levels. This includes a level of purity higher than that required by law for food. The gases also satisfy the specifications for traceability of food additives such as continuous monitoring and documentation of all production and delivery stages as in other food processing facilities.
